A major update has just landed for Icarus, and it’s already available to play. Week 213 introduces a brand-new tag-based crafting system, a full rework of fish recipes, and multiple quality-of-life improvements aimed at making survival smoother and crafting less cluttered.

What’s New in the Week 213 Update

The highlight of this update is the new tag-based crafting system. Instead of having dozens of nearly identical recipes, crafting now accepts items based on tags. For example, any fish tagged as [fish] can be used in the same recipe, dramatically simplifying cooking and processing.

This change makes crafting faster, cleaner, and far more intuitive — especially after the addition of dozens of new fish types in previous updates.

Fishing and Recipe Improvements

Fishing and fish-related crafting have been significantly improved:

  • Steamed Fish are back and can now be cooked from any caught fish.

  • Fish Chunks are now created via proper recipes, not just inventory actions.

  • Fillet recipes now work with [freshwater] and [saltwater] tags instead of individual fish types.

  • The Filleting Station is now manual, giving players more control.

  • Weight-based bonuses remain unchanged and are now clearly explained via tooltips.

Mount and Gameplay Tweaks

Based on player feedback, the update also includes:

  • Improved mount UI with restored cargo access.

  • Buffed mammoth mounts with stronger attacks and larger stomp radius.

  • Woolly Mammoths added to Southern Prometheus Arctic zones.

  • Dried fish spoil time increased for better long-term storage.

This is also the final week of the double XP event, making it the perfect time to jump back into Icarus with friends.
