Enshrouded Pact of the Flame update

Dear Customers,
We are pleased to inform you that the developers at Keen Games have released the fifth major update for Enshrouded (version 0.8.0.0, build #635482), known as Pact of the Flame. We have already updated all rented Enshrouded servers on our hosting platform, so you can jump right in and enjoy all the new features!

Below is a summary of the main highlights and the full changelog provided by Keen Games:

Key Highlights

1. Social Features

Text Chat: Now you can chat directly in-game, configure profanity filters, mute specific players, and access a chat log in the new “Social” menu tab.
Voice Chat: Two modes are available (proximity or server-wide). By default, it’s disabled and must be enabled by the server host/admin. You can adjust volume levels and toggle your mic.
Social Hub: A new menu tab listing all players currently online, showing their location on the map, server permissions, and audio/text settings.
Emotes: A new emote wheel replaces the “sit” action (default X on PC), making it easier to use various animations.

2. Building Improvements

First-Person View for Building: When using the Construction Hammer or certain building tools, you can switch to a first-person perspective for more precise placement.
Full Rotation Control: Decorative props can now be rotated on all axes. Furniture and interactive items still rotate around the vertical axis only.
New Tools:
- Overgrowth Editing: Add or remove vegetation (ivy, etc.) on your building blocks.
- Building Block Decay: Apply or remove a “ruined” visual effect on block edges.
Food & Drink Placement: Plates, boards, and coasters now let you place food, drinks, and potions for decorative purposes.
New Props: Over 70 additional decorative and crafting items, including statues, doors (with a massive vault door), lamps, and more. There are also two new building materials (yellow stained-glass blocks and a new stone material).

3. Gameplay Enhancements

Skill Resets: You can now reset individual skills in the skill tree.
Parrying Indicators: Many enemies now show a visual cue for parries, plus projectiles that can be parried also have an indicator.
New Farm Animal: “Dune Armadillo” in the Kindlewastes can be tamed and raised.
NPC and Animal Behavior: Various pathfinding and AI improvements for villagers and farm animals.
Dodge and Blink Tweaks: Now available earlier during wand attacks, aligning them with melee weapon timings.

4. World Updates

Major reworks and expansions of locations such as Moth’s Grove, Saline Quarry, Netherton, and more.
New settlements in Springlands (including Midhollow, Wistful Fields) and terrain improvements.
Updated visual design for Shroud Overgrowth materials.
Enhanced combat encounters in Blackmire and Albaneve Summits.
Added “Event Honor Hall” in Albaneve Summits, displaying names of Halloween Building Contest 2024 winners.

5. Sound Improvements

Sound Occlusion: Sounds behind walls or objects are more muffled.
New sounds for UI interactions (equipping items, weapon upgrades, and more).
Separate volume sliders for voice chat.

Full Changelog

Adjusted ring drop rates in Albaneve Summits and other areas.
Fixed some loot table errors.
Item wheel for controllers is now centered on the screen.
Building from Magic Chests: The construction hammer can directly access blocks from magic chests as long as you have at least 1 unit of the material in your backpack. Dismantled blocks go back into your backpack.
Fixed default button highlights in the split-stack widget.
Simplified taming (the timer no longer cancels if you sneak away while the animal is eating, animals remain unsuspicious longer, etc.).
“Cat Search” quest is now easier (more space to maneuver).
Stealth on hilly terrain is more reliable; small bumps won’t scare away animals.
Animals no longer push each other while being petted.
Animals can’t eat through walls.
Updated cat and dog food recipes (removed nettle from cat food, removed wolf meat from dog food).
Fixed cases where villagers ran in circles or froze in place.
Corrected Fell enemy spawn in some nests.
Improved controller navigation in the server browser.
Optimized vegetation rendering (improved leaf translucency).
Reduced stuttering on HDD installations.
Fixed an issue preventing lore/quest items from dropping from enemies.
Merciless Attack skill now reliably hits large enemies like Sabertooth Cats.
Removed unnecessary health bars from boss corpses.
Increased brightness in very dark areas.
Fixed display errors for completed (missed) Embervale quests.
Added extra checks to ensure quests always trigger properly.
Shader compilation info moved from the pause menu to the HUD.
Bloodletting skill now correctly spawns health orbs on critical hits from all magic spells.
Fixed incorrect upgrades for the Composite Bow (it now provides proper piercing damage).
Red mushrooms renamed to Penny Bun, with updated visuals.
Added birch trees to forest regions.
Increased Obsidian building material’s durability (less prone to grenade damage).
Fixed enemy arrows and bolts passing through solid objects.
Wood dropped from chopped trees now falls correctly.
Improved texture streaming to ensure high-res textures load at the right time.
Network optimizations to reduce lag and rubberbanding, particularly on lower bandwidths.
Fixed grappling hook anchors that previously couldn’t be used.
Players can now control their movement while falling, even without an initial jump.
