Conan Exiles Enhanced Is Coming May 5th — Free UE5 Upgrade

Funcom has officially announced Conan Exiles Enhanced, a massive free upgrade for the Steam version of Conan Exiles, launching on May 5th, 2026.

This is not a small patch. Conan Exiles Enhanced brings the game to Unreal Engine 5, with a full visual overhaul, improved performance, modern rendering technology, and several major gameplay and quality-of-life improvements.

For players, this means a refreshed Conan Exiles experience with better graphics, smoother performance, a redesigned interface, and support for new systems such as multiple characters per account.

For server owners, this is a very important update too. The Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah are being merged into one connected experience, allowing both regions to exist on the same server. Players who own the Isle of Siptah DLC will be able to travel between both maps without needing to choose only one at the start.

According to the developers, Conan Exiles Enhanced will also include:

Improved visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5

Better performance across Low, Medium, High, and Ultra settings

Steam Deck support

Reduced client size, down from around 120 GB to about 40 GB

Revamped user interface

Multiple character support

Improved crafting and building systems

Day-one modding support

Save transfer support from the UE4 version

Quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes

Existing Exiled Lands private server databases should be readable by the new UE5 version, but the developers strongly recommend making backups before the update. Isle of Siptah servers are handled differently because the island is no longer a separate dedicated server map in Conan Exiles Enhanced.

Conan Exiles Enhanced launches on May 5th, 2026 as a free upgrade for all owners of the Steam version of the game. The UE4 version will remain available as Conan Exiles Legacy, but the Enhanced version will become the main PC version going forward.
